He. Is. There.

Sunsets.
Something that the Lord allowed me to understand today came in the form of an analogy...surprisingly. This evening, in the lovely little town of Boone, North Carolina, God blessed us with a magnificent sunset. I think that the reason it was so astounding was because there were so many clouds, which were also captivating because of their consistency and placement in the sky...the sun shines the most brilliantly through clouds. When it's higher in the sky and it peeks through the cottony blanket encompassing our sky, its rays come beaming through as a reminder that even though it is cloudy and gray for a bit, the sun is always there right above. And then when it comes time for the sun to move on to the next time zone, it becomes the most vibrant shade of reddish-orangish-pink (yes, that is a color) that permeates those same clouds and lights up the sky like nothing else I have ever seen. This reminds us that when the sun is behind the clouds in our lives, the most beautiful things can take place. It is a promise of the hope we have in our Lord and Creator, who chooses to paint the sky this way just because He can! Can you imagine what it looks like from Heaven? I can't wait to see that!
